ZEUS Scooters have arrived in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. Since their launch eight weeks ago, users have taken more than 10,000 rides. This makes the electric scooters an attractive alternative means of transportation for the urban city population. ZEUS recently increased the scooter fleet to 100 and expanded the area to include Tiergarten and the Söflingen and Michelsberg districts.
“We have set out in Ulm and Neu-Ulm to make an active contribution to the sustainable transport turnaround. The e-scooters ideally complement the existing range of micro-mobility services. They are a fast, environmentally friendly means of transport for the city and are fun to ride,” says Damian Young, founder and CEO of ZEUS Scooters.
The Irish scooter rental company launched at the end of July 2020 as the first provider in Ulm and Neu-Ulm with a small fleet of 20 e-scooters. Citizens, commuters from the surrounding area and tourists have taken up the offer very well – regardless of whether they are young or old. In addition to everyday users, trips by tourists to the sights of the two cities as well as evening excursions with the scooters along the Danube are in particular demand. Due to the high demand, ZEUS has successively increased the fleet to 100 scooters. In addition, the provider has expanded the area of use to include the zoo as well as the districts of Söflingen and Michelsberg. In eight weeks, the people of Ulm and Neu-Ulm have made over 10,000 trips with the scooters.
The feedback from customers has been consistently positive. They particularly appreciate the stability of the scooters due to the three wheels. This makes the scooters robust, comfortable to ride and safe to drive. In addition, they can be parked safely on the two-foot stand and therefore do not lie around on the road.
“We have definitely arrived in Ulm and Neu-Ulm,” is Damian Young’s first conclusion. “With the bike store ‘Zweirad Schmide’ from Neu-Ulm, we have a local, ecologically acting service partner who keeps the scooter fleet in good shape and distributes it optimally in the city area. And the cooperation with the two city councils is also very pleasant and constructive. So we can offer people a sustainable alternative for micromobility.”
